Large Composite Pine bowl, 14" diameter (350 mm) approximately

This was quite fun to make. It started as a proof of concept, intended to be recreated in hardwood, but a friend liked it so much he bought it, giving me a mitre saw in part exchange so I can do better joints next time! He actually liked the resin filled effect. If doing it again I think I would try a 12 sided shape (dodecahedron) rather than an octagon as being closer to circular, and the sides would be two layers so that I could overlap the glue joints as this one has moved slightly with being in a house and a few of the joints have opened up slightly. The small pine bowl was from an offcut of a purlin and was just used to test the stain before putting it on the main bowl.
