Large Oak Bowl 9.25" diameter (235 x 72 mm 629g)

When I was visiting Mum and Dad I was in the cellar getting a bottle of wine (this sounds much grander than it is, it's really just the space under the old cottage suspended floor) and I noticed a lump of oak which looked like an offcut from a lintel in the old cottage, about 10" x 3" and maybe 18" long. We had similar lintels in our 1927 house, and had to replace them with concrete thanks to rot and woodworm. I've no idea how old the tree was when felled, but it must have been seasoning for nearly 100 years. I chose a fairly open shape. Although it's primarily an ornament, it can also be used as a fruit bowl.
