I was a bit worried by the big lump missing from the side of the blank, but I managed to clear it. There was a crack which I decided to fill with a mixture of epoxy and sawdust as it was threatening the integrity of the bowl (nobody likes it when the bowl ends up as pieces on the floor!). This bowl has some beatiful grain patterns as a result of being cut from a branch junction, and to make the most of them for once I went with a shiny finish rather than my usual satin.
Currently being exhibited in a local craft shop.
