My neighbours asked whether I could make a chicken coop for a couple of hens that their daughter wanted as pets. I had quite a bit of 9 mm ply left over from lining the playhouse/shed, so I said yes, and luckily was able to make my cutting list match the offcuts. A few old skirting boards were ripped lengthways (with the circular saw! I wish I had a thicknesser to tidy up this kind of cut). I decided to try mastic to seal the roof and nestbox hatch as I had a tin sitting in the garage, and it would save buying roofing felt just for this one wee job.
